this painting is entitled, Hope, II. the artist is gustav klimt. i have been an admirer of his for years, and spent some time with this work in nyc last weekend. i learned that he often called the painting Vision. either way, i could use a little of both. ok.

Klimt was just another Austrian Symbolist hack. My brother-in-law used to clean his granddaughter's pool and she said that the Vienna Art Nouveau was just made up. Plus, I don't see what the big deal is about european greeting card artists anyway. A dime a dozen if you ask me.
I couldn't disagree more with Anonymous. I went to the Nue Museum in NYC and was completely captivated. Love Klimt, The Kiss is still one of my favorites. It's even more beautiful up close.
What I love about Vienna Art Nouveau was how dark and sinister the time was and yet so beautiful. Just my opinion.
